Our Buschenschank tavern is located in the centre of Neustift am Walde, nestled between vineyards and the Wienerwald forest. With
- our cozy parlours,
- our exquisiste wines,
- and the romantic courtyard
we are one of Vienna's most popular Heurigen locations. The archictect of the house, which was built more than 40 years ago by Ernst and Gerti Huber, was professor Walter von Hoesslin, a renownend stage designer and co-founder of the Bregenzer Festspiele.
Thanks to Gerti Huber who is still in charge of the interior design, the rustic atmosphere is always cozy, no matter where you find yourself.
Not only the Buschenschank tavern but also its surroundings play an important role if you are wanting to spend a truly relaxed day at the Heurigen. Neustift am Walde on the outskirts of Vienna has maintained its village-like character and offers a welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle of city life. Here you can sit back and enjoy traditional fare and exquisited wines in a cozy atmosphere.
The name Neustift was first mentioned in documents in 1330; it is most likely derived from the fact that after the demise of the township Chlainzings, an abbey was founded at the forest's edge
